Is there any alternative to keyconfig for Fx3 yet?
Damnit, folks, it's Fx, not FF!

Is it possible to use keyconfig for sunbird's 'Find Events'-command
(Menu-> Edit: 'Find Events')?
How to do that?
Dorando -thank You very much!
Adding new key with:
is well working.

That fix was only needed if the unofficial version by oneman was installed previously.dmcritchie wrote:keyconfig has not been working with Firefox 3.0 betas, am getting empty dialog regardless of whether or not have fix noted for Jun Mon 4th 2007 12:55am adding a keyconfig.main.fix_enh (String) .
You need to edit the noted file in your profile with a text editor. To actually install the extension you need to disable extensions.checkCompatibility and extensions.checkUpdateSecurity through <a href="http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.php?title=about:config&oldid=26276">about:config</a>.dmcritchie wrote:Sorry was not looking at the most recent postings, so I see

What version to install, and where to get it?
Hi all,
I want to try this extension, but got mixed up with the different versions that seem to be available, altough I read a couple of posts in this thread already. I'm using FF 2.0.0.11 and 2.0.0.12 currently. Can anybody tell me what version I should use and where to get it from?
I don't mind to add some compatibility workaround with about:config or with editing the extension files
BTW: Is it possible to define a shortcut to open the FF options window with this extension?
Thanks a lot, Peter

Should not be necessary as long as you stay online during installation (as Firefox needs to retrieve updated compatibility information from my server).peter_moz wrote:I don't mind to add some compatibility workaround with about:config or with editing the extension files
openPreferences();peter_moz wrote:BTW: Is it possible to define a shortcut to open the FF options window with this extension?

Hey dorando ...
I'm trying out Firefox 3 Beta 4 Portable right now: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/f ... table/test
The .xpi you host doesn't work for that.
Tried to modify it with the guidelines you have provided, but couldn't get it to show any keys to modify in the menu. Basically the modifications I did: is on a fine list here: http://randomfoo.net/blog/id/4128 .
I didn't just want to download the file on that site, I wanted to be sure everything was right, but couldn't make it right myself.
So I gave the file on the site just linked a try... And it worked :S. Don't understand it, because I have done the exact same modifications as he post he has done.
So now when I couldn't make my own version, my question to you is about, whether you can say good for it (the file on the site linked)? Is the file clean? no hoax in it? And could you please upload a new version that supports Firefox 3 on your site also?
Its such a nice extension (add-on?). Love having F12 modified to "close tab"
Chill

Maybe you will consider <b>the following <u>SPAM</u></b>, if so, say it and I won't make similar comments again:
Seems that you guys are really into/experienced making add-ons working with FF3. Could you please have a look at this thread: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... highlight= and if you could give me some guidelines of what is necessary to modify in order to make them work with FF3, I would be really glad.
Also I would like to have this: http://userstyles.org/styles/1030 working with FF3. Info about what is wrong with it have been made by user 'ddsafsdfgs'
Peace

Works with my copy of FF 3.0b5.
Banned permanently for thinking the rules does not apply to you as you thought you could temporarily get around the month suspension. Your suspension is now up but instead both accounts are now Banned.

Hi!
I installed keyconfig because I wanted to turn off Ctrl+B (opens Bookmarks) and Ctrl+I (does the same) in FF. In IE I was able to use those two for BOLD and ITALICs when I was entering text for web page. Now those shortcuts (for Bookmarks window) are disabled, but are also gone for text formatting (now I can only use mouse and buttons for bold and italics). I'm sure I can get those shortcuts with keyconfig back, but don't know how.
If anybody has an idea, please let me know. I would also like to post a screenshot of FF window I'm talking of ... is it possible?
Thanx people!

On which website is that form? The code needed is likely site-specific but following might work (Add a new key on the lower left):
Code: Select all
content.frames[0].document.execCommand("bold", false, null);
Code: Select all
content.frames[0].document.execCommand("italic", false, null);
