Hi, thanks for your interest. I am monitoring the specific APIs I'm waiting for and they are (so far) not part of that next triage meeting, although someone (non-Mozilla) keeps posting pretty much exactly the same thing you posted in some of the bugs I'm watching. I'm not sure why.

Could we maybe see Context Search make a return soon? Everything at listed at GitHub issue #27 is now fixed, apart from these non-essentials:

• 1320462 which is still open,
• 1325757 which was closed as Wontfix and it looks like you should've set a NeedInfo flag to request a response,
• 1325758 which was also closed as Wontfix.

There are already a number of context-search type webexts available at AMO. I'm using this one: ContextSearch web-ext Lite which allows you to import your search engine list from Firefox's. To see others, just search AMO for 'context search'.

I need POST support. No extensions have this, since it wasn't possible until the aforementioned bug was fixed in Firefox 63. That version will be released October 23rd, so it'll be a while before anyone considers reworking existing webextensions for the new API.

I'm using this one: ContextSearch web-ext Lite

Demands to "access your data for all websites, access browser tabs". I won't put up with such absurd permissions. That's why I've stuck with Context Search WebExtension 1.1, which only asks permission to read bookmarks (to import search engines).
