Hi All

Forgive me if I'm asking this in the wrong place, but I really don't know where to get help and I'm tearing my hair out.

I want to do something very simple, but somehow have lost a day in trial and error trying to do it. Very frustrating.

Scrapbook Plus has a feature to get pages several levels in. I choose three levels in the first screen, then I enter a regular expression for a filter, but it never works. It just downloads the page I started on (and I've checked the sitemap). I know this is possible because I did it ages ago, but I must have fluked it then.

So, say the main page is: http://www.somesite.com/abc/abcindex.html

That has links to lots of sub-pages, like:
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc121511.html
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc120811.html
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc120211.html

You can see that they have dates embedded in them. Each one of those has links to the pages I really want, so taking the first one, they look a bit like this:
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc121511-story01.html
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc121511-story02.html
http://www.somesite.com/abc/abc121511-story03.html

So, all I want to do with my regular expression is get the first two "story" pages for each sub-page.

In English: Download the sites within three levels that have both "abc" and (either "story01" or "story02") in them.

I've browsed endless regular expression help sites, even downloaded a regular expression tester, but none of things they say would work, do work. Can someone please help?

Hello, how would it be possible to capture consecutive pages of a forum post automatically? If its only one or 2 pages, no problem.. but a 22 page post topic is way too much time manually.

I've lost some data, gawd knows how but I've looked in the folder and there is a 'backup' sub-folder. I've looked around but I can't find a restore function, is there one? I'm sure I saw it previously - quite a while ago.

I've got XP, the latest release and multi scrapbook activated.

I have 2 problems (either bugs or configuration issues you could help me correct) with ScrapBook Plus 1.8.21.35 running Firefox 10.0.1 on Windows XP SP3.

#1 - When I'm editing a Scrapbook page, I highlight text with the mouse and then when I click the eraser icon (popup title is "Remove the Selection"), nothing happens. However, this DOES work properly on my OTHER computers. I've tried this with many different saves, old and new. I can still use the "DOM Eraser", but most of the time I need or prefer to highlight text and "Remove the Selection".

#2 - When I want to save selected text (highlighted with my mouse) from a Web Page to Scrapbook Plus, it now always saves all the page, which is a huge problem. However, this DOES work properly on my OTHER computers. Perhaps these 2 problems are related to each other?

I hope you can help. Thanks!

When will this be updated so that Firefox 10 doesn't complain about it?

It appears you'll have to bump it yourself, or you can use a version I bumped recently.

If you use the Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension, it will allow a great deal of extensions (that haven't been updated by the author) to work.

Hello everyone, and thanks for taking care of ScrapBook Plus.

I just registered to suggest a new feature: I'd like the ability to save pages by drag-n-dropping a link to them in ScrapBookPlus' sidebar.

Example: you are on http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=854685 and see a link to http://flashblock.mozdev.org/, drag the link to SB+ sidebar, the target page gets captured.

The main reason for my request is that I now use Iceweasel on Debian instead of Firefox (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceweasel) and it seems Debian has patched Firefox so that the pages favicons field (left of the adddress bar), which i used to drag-n-drop on SB+ sidebar, now sends an HTML <a> tag to where it is dropped, so when I do this, ScrapBook+ produces a "Javascript Application" error popup:

Code: Select all

Invalid URL: <a class="postlink" href="http://flashblock.mozdev.org/">http://flashblock.mozdev.org/</a>
(same as when I drop a link on the sidebar). I'm pretty sure this was not the case with plain old Firefox. If my request could be implemented this would fix the problem for all Debian users, and besides that I think the link-dragging idea is not bad.

@haselnuss Please, let me know, and thanks for your work and time !

A new version, which is compatible with Firefox 10, is available. As an automatic update is not possible at the moment for different reasons, you have to visit the homepage to get the new version.
Look for the topic "Firefox 10" and follow the instructions to find the new version.

Everyone, who is using Firefox 10, should update, as the previous release is not compatible with the recent Firefox version.

@nodiscc:
As long as this error is not reproducible in "normal" Firefox, I will not be able to help you, as I do not use Linux.

@others:
If your concern is still important for you, post again and I will see, if it is possible to help you.

Hi,

First, Sorry for my bad english!

Since, I had moved to Firefox 11.0, Scrapbook plus shows me this message (when I try to choose the folder with the captures):

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsILocalFile.create]" nsresult: "0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://scrapbook/content/common.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 53" data: no]

So, I can't recover my captures!

Do you have any solutions please?

Thanks you in advance,

Benjamin

@haselnuss: thanks for your quick reply. Would it possible to allow saving a page by just dragging a link to it in in SB+'s sidebar?

(as a side effect this would also sole my problem I think)

Hello!
Is it possible to add an ability to open saved notes in Scrapbook Plus 1.8.22.38 just like saved web-pages? I mean, left mouse button click on note in sidebar - note is opened in the same tab, middle button - note is opened in new tab. Notes are now always opened in new tab when click on them with lmb, and disabling an option "Open notes in new tab" doesn't help as it makes notes to be opened in small preview window in sidebar.

Is there no way to hide the "edit bar" (the one with the highlighters) at the bottom? I thought it once had a close button, or maybe it never had one and I'm confusing it with some other add-on.
