Could there be an option to make Enhanced History Manager "replace" the built-in history manager?
I'd really like Ctrl+H (or View > Sidebar > History) to bring up EHM, if possible.

Keep up the great work :)

thanks for the compliment.....

to my understnding, u really can't change a key easily like that, since it would involve changing stuff in the actual browser unless u do it by intercepting the Hot Key (which is waaaaaaaay over my head..... lol. If u don't do that then u will have a key conflict.... Since Ctrl+H is history i chose Ctrl+SHift+H since it was so similar (and unused) :) :)

there was an extension around that allowed u to change the hotkeys assignments.....you might want to look at that to see if it helps... u might want to do a forum search or post a new topic if that fails, or make a request.....

at depending on how much more funtionality I'll add and maybe a few othe

Always play around ...lol that's how u learn... but seriously... u can always backup copy your history.dat to save your history.....

It'd be nice if you added some alt text to that button. :D

Maybe something like... Active Columns

Is there any way I can change the hotkey to reach this extension from CTRL+SHIFT+H to just the regular History hotkey of CTRL+H? Thanks.

Awesome extension =)

If the Ctrl+Shift+H --> Ctrl+H change is difficult, could you find a way for the normal history menu to list URLs instead of wepage titles???

I would just like for it to use the default history button.

as i mentioned before http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... 539#659539 that would be a problem (for me) but if u want it like that here's how to do it on your machine, it's pretty simple.

With FF closed. Firstly, make a backup copy of your browser.jar then
1. Unzip the browser.jar and locate the browser.xul file, and change the line
<key id="key_gotoHistory" key="&historySidebarCmd.commandKey;" command="viewHistorySidebar" modifiers="accel"/>
to
<key id="key_gotoHistory" key="&historySidebarCmd.commandKey;" command="viewHistorySidebar" modifiers="accel,shift"/>

2. rezip it and replace the original browser.jar with this new one

3. then unzip the hcpm.jar and locate the hcpmOverlay.xul file, and change theline
<key id="openHistoryManager" modifiers="accel,shift" .....
and change it to
<key id="openHistoryManager" modifiers="accel" .....
4. rezip it and replace the original hcpm.jar with this new one.

Restart FireFox. the Hotkeys for History & Enhanced History manager are now swapped
(ie History (normal) = Ctrl +Shift+ H
Enhanced History Manager = Ctrl +H)

Why??
Anything against using the included Enhanced History Button :) It functions the same way as the default History Button. Plus it has an added feature of MiddleClicking on the Enhanced History Button will bring up a Enhanced History Window (not in a a sidebar).

Worked great, thanks!
Would the level of compression on hcpm.jar affect Firefox performance?
