Words with Friends (Facebook) won't work in Seamonkey
I can't get Words with Friends to work (it's in Facebook).
It works fine with IE.
The screen appears, but I can't move the letters.
Java test page works fine.
Java is installed, but may not be fully enabled in SeaMonkey. I can't figure out how to check or fix that.

you need flash to play the game. Is flash installed on your machine and do you see flash enabled in tools ==> Add-ons Manager ==> Plugins

Re: Words with Friends (Facebook) won't work in Seamonkey
Flash is installed, and the test screen for Flash shows success, version 11,9,900,170 installed. However, when I have to ask for the test to show this, the spot on the landing page says "A plugin is needed to display this content". I installed the plug-in (Shockwave Flash 11.9.900.170, and Shockwave for Director 12.07.148). No improvement, but I haven't restarted yet.
Restarted, no good.
The page seems to be attempting to do something after I attempt to move the letter, but never gets there. The arrow in the tab spins, and spins, and spins... as does an arrow by the cursor. Hit escape, the spinning stops, but still can't move the letters. Spinning starts again after trying to move letters again.
The cursor won't pick up the letters. The touch pad is the same. But you can pick up letters with the touch screen, but they won't stay in place when released.
Another update - problem is in SeaMonkey in Windows 8.1 IE works fine in 8.1, SeaMonkey works fine in Ubuntu. So SeaMonkey in Windows 8.1 is when the problem occurs.

Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
==>choose OS(win 7/8)
==>then choose flash player for other players
==>Download it.
==>Install it
==>Restart browser and check flash.

Re: Words with Friends (Facebook) won't work in Seamonkey
At http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/, there is no win 7/8 choice. Is this different from what you expected, or is either 7 or 8 ok? I'm guessing 8 is the desired choice because that one gives only the "other" choice, and it's 8.1 I'm using; 7 has two choices, "other" and IE.
Also, do I need to uninstall other versions first?
This is a 64 bit machine, I see no accommodation for that, as I did on some other Flash installations.
I'll hold for a while for your answer, just to make sure - I don't want to confuse this poor thing any further.

Tried it without and then with removing old versions.
No luck, still doesn't work.
What other ideas?

Is "plugins.click_to_play" enabled in about:config ?

plugins.click_to_play;true
Shockwave Flash 11.9.900.170 and Shockwave for Director 12.0.7.148 are both installed and "always activate"

To rule out conflict with other addons/extensions and corrupted profile create a new profile (tools==>Switch profile) and play the game using the new profile
Code: Select all

No luck there either. Tried different profiles in SeaMonkey, and in Windows.

Problem is in SeaMonkey in Windows 8.1. IE works fine for this game in 8.1. SeaMonkey works fine for me in Ubuntu, XP, Vista. Just not in Windoze 8.1. So SeaMonkey in Windows 8.1 is when the problem occurs.
