memory and cpu use grows up and do not decrease once closed

Post by Michael REMY »

hi,

i sue win7 x64 update and SM 2.29.1

they are a bunch a websites (mainly some blog wordpress) i go in, and when i close the page, the tab and even seamonkey, the memory is not free and the cpu use is still high. (and seamonkey.exe remains in process !!)

i finaly find a example i tried it many time and each time the same problem :
- cpu use increase quickly more than 13% for nothing (all tab and page are closed)
- memory occuped grows once i close all (but never decreave to low)
- seamonkey remains in task manager even when all is close and still have 13% of cpu use

i really hope you can debug this kind of bad behaviour (i know it must be javascript abuse or flash), but seamonkey should free theses resources when all is close

here a example of website where the problem appear (wordpress + flash + some javascript) :
http://alexdang.info/

before go on it, check your resource and see what appens...

best regards

Hangs on Exit are often the result of broken extensions:

Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

i guess it is something to do with Flash because, often when i close Seamonkey, i still her the flash movie sound playing ! i have to kill the plugin process to really end it. but in this case, it is not Flash, it have to do with javascript clock-time, maybe an infinit loop or bad ajax mootol something...

Does the same happen in Safe Mode or with a new, clean Profile?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

You can always make (& should make) a backup.

Safe Mode shouldn't really affect anything.
A new, clean Profile, at the least to test with, is also separate from any existing.
