SM 2.39 updates not working

Post by MagnumOpus »

SeaMonkey 2.39's home page currently announces that version 2.40 is available.
I have always installed updates this way:
Help / Check for Updates
However, this option appears broken.
Now I'm getting this:
No Updates Found
(P.S.: Is there a workaround that allows installation of just the version update, without having to install from scratch? Thanks.)

Which operating system? The full Windows installer will just update the program directory and not touch your profile. This will be upgraded during first start same as when doing the partial update.

It's the same on Linux and I am quite sure on OSX. You profile data is not upgraded by the installer.

Just download the full installer and run it.

There are seamonkey-2.39-2.40.partial.mar files.
Suppose they'd work? (You'd have to find/read the instructions on how to update it locally.)

(If you ended up with the complete.mar, it's not worth the effort ;-).
At that point just use the full installer.
If you need other locales, pop up a directory level.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Windows XP.

I was installing the full 2.40 at the same time therube was posting his reply.
Just researched partial.mar installs; they appear to be a bit more involved.

Thanks for the replies. :)
