  2. First, learn how to use BBCode correctly in forum replies.
(That way you won't make botches like the previous answer).
  3. Stop making a fool of yourself, be polite, and don't react like a loser. :)
  4. And finally, check this link.

1. I was using XP then - and I still do.
2. But it is clearly stated in my signature that I also have Windows 11 and SeaMonkey 2.53
In fact it doesn't make any difference.
Good, so go and solve your problem yourself
I have already solved my problem myself: I use FireFox to visit these sites, with extensions that aren't available for SeaMonkey.
I have given that information here to help others.
Thanks for your help.

TBR75 pointed me to a legacy version of uBlock which does work with SeaMonkey to block the popups: but that leaves an overlay to remove and the vertical slider to restore.
So it only helps if there is a "Behind the overlay revival" version which works as well.
I already said thet changing the version comptibility in the latest versions isn't sufficient: the API's are different.
So far security restrictions have blocked my attempts to do this in Javascript.
take your attitude with you.
If you don't like it, don't read my posts and don't reply

Enough. I've split off the most recent post on this thread as unhelpful and far off topic. Keep thins civil or this thread will be locked.

You can also delete the last post of ElTxolo, which is exactly what you describe.

Since I had the solution to my initial question - which I published, I suggested closing the thread but someone wanted to keep it alive.
