Linux Mozilla - losing or corrupting profile

I am have a problem with Linux Mozilla 1.1, under Mandrake. I can get it set up, and after running it sometime for hours, sometimes I make it a day or two, and I try to load Mozilla back up and it just sits and spins until it disappears from the
active programs at the bottom of the screen. or if I crash Mozilla while running it the profile gets corrupt. I have created a backup of this profile, and have to keep it up to date. and I can copy this backup profile back over the default user and it will run fine for a while. Does anyone have any idea why Mandrake 9.0 and Mozilla 1.1 would always corrupt the profile, or an easier way of fixing the profile. I have
scanned for virus with Clam av and at one time it reported Hydra in the cache, which I deleted, but other then that it scans clean.
