Building SeaMonkey 2.49.1 has started
All the bricks are in place, the release has been tagged and ewong started the build process. This might take some time.
The release is currently at ESR 52.3 level with some additonal fixes for OSX mail crashes and other problems If it takes longer than expected (which it might given the previous problems with infrastructure and other things) we might bump the source to the soon to be released 52.4. Otherwise a 2.49.2 will follow.

Since I am not sure how to figure this out: Will the bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1393467 be resolved in the upcoming SeaMonkey 2.49.1?

Re: Building SeaMonkey 2.49.1 has started
The source is currently at 52.3 level with additional fixes. This bug is fixed in 52.4 so next release currently. Might change. We are delayed by a bug with Lightning binary objects and share the mozilla releases branch with Thunderbird. If they upgrade soon we will adjust to 52.4.

When they get the bugs worked out and they are ready.4td8s wrote:and will Windows builds of SM 2.49.1 follow soon? there were only linux & mac osx builds of 2.49.1 but not for Windows OSes
The less time they have to spend answering these questions, gives them more time to work.
Thank you for your consideration.

The current candidates do not work with Lightning. This holds up the build a bit. I put up an patch and it should work itself out till next week. Imho should be good and just needs a review.

Excellent news, IMO 2.49.1 is a superb piece of work, even in unofficial (and earlier) builds.
Updating with the latest 52 engine too makes me happy for at least another year or so!

Almost. I need to do the release notes and ewong a final verification. The build is 99% the final.

Yeah, it's OK.mightyglydd wrote:Before I make the plunge, anyone having problems with Sea Fox compatibility ?
Toolbar grippies show up (I seem to vaguely recall that they will be a pref for those in default sometime) but this whacks those -
Code: Select all
toolbargrippy { visibility: collapse !important;}
I prefer the default Addons Manager look, rather than the SeaFox one. To do that just go to the seafox xpi in extensions folder and find the extensions.xul in its content folder and then cut it and paste it in the profile somewhere for safekeeping. Been doing that for ages with no adverse.

In 2.49.2 you will just need to set browser.toolbars.grippyhidden to true.
