where are the nightlies?

Post by Bergamot »

What's happened to nightly builds? Windows latest trunk is 2 weeks old. comm-central-trunk-win32-nightly-build463.txt.gz from Jan 22 shows some kind of compile error.

"filename too long"? hard to believe this kind of problem still exists. Anyway, it looks like it might have just been fixed.

The last attempt to build a Windows trunk nightly was before the patch shortening the target directory name was checked in. FWIW, the most recent Mac nightly builds went through yesterday morning; that was before the patch landed as well, though.

Windows 2.18a1 nightly builds were successful this morning, thus you should get an update offered now.

Last Linux I see in latest-comm-central-trunk is 2.17a1 from 01-05-2013..

Should I be looking somewhere else, or has Linux been dropped?

Last Linux build was on 01-05-2013. So it is a monthly instead of a nightly :-)

Yeah, Linux seems to be a mess - all tinderboxes are burning. I don't know what the issue is with those...

Yeah, odd. The "releases" directory has a 2.16b2 version from 25 January though.

The beta and aurora channels aren't affected, just trunk is having problems (apparently because of higher Python requirements and issues with the packaging, no Mac OSX either since January 23).

There was another recent regression from mozilla-central, bug 788293 on "e4x" removal (whatever that is/now was/ good for). Thunderbird has checked in a patch with bug 759422, covering the mail/ and mailnews/ usages, but I'd assume that similar suite/ cleanups are needed to resolve the SeaMonkey bustages.

Thus, it doesn't look much like nightly trunk builds tomorrow either...

According to Neil we don't use the e4x bits although it's in shared /mailnews/ code. However we are affected by:
Bug 808785 - Stop shipping d3dx9_43.dll
See:
Bug 837568 - Port |Bug 808785 - Stop shipping d3dx9_43.dll| to SeaMonkey
We also need:
Bug 837570 - Fix OSX64 buildage from |Bug 780561 - (new-packager) Overhaul the packager|
