> Youtube videos now unavailable Expected. Disable Flashblock & Youtube will work again. Until Flashblock is fixed, if you can figure it out, you can use the (doubly ) modded version as described just above. > the upgrade first restarted the browser on one of the computers, Seamonkey repeatedly crashed as soon as the password was typed Well a (single) crash on the very first open is a bug & expected. Though a repeated crash has also been reported.

> repeated crash That is tied into the use of a Master Password. Exit from SeaMonkey (IOW exit from the Crash Report). Go into your Profile folder & create a file named "xulstore.json" (with a text editor). Its contents does not matter. It can be empty or can have something like the word "test" in it, but it must exist. Start SeaMonkey & see if you aren't able to get in successfully.

Great! Works fine for me. I only had a temporary problem when I first tried to delete www.youtube.com from the white list using the button drop down menu "Allow flash from this site" - this resulted in an empty entry in the white list and the site wasn't really removed. After removing the blank line in the options the "Allow" button option began working fine again. Maybe this was due to some stale data in my profile.

Can the profile folder saved as you describe above work (eg um0e0y1x.default )in a different install of SeaMonkey?
If not, what if I change the name to match?

Using which of the nearly half-a-dozen different available versions or fixes of Flashblock mentioned in this thread?

I just use the latest Flashblock Addon (as named above).
With Firefox 34 the same problems with flashblock and youtube. In both browsers "also blocking html5" is enabled

disable html5 blocking doesn't change anything on youtube. also the same (F) without any action
PS: disable flashblock & browser restart >>>> youtube plays video again.

This is part of your problem: http://www.ghacks.net/2014/07/17/google ... -33-newer/If you really need Flashblock functionality on YouTube, then the only way to do it is probably completely disable HTML5 video/audio. To disable, try setting both of these to false: media.windows-media-foundation.enabled media.directshow.enabled
