Logging into Chase bank, SM 2.30 vs SM 2.31

Post by Dan Kies »

Hello everyone,

Is anyone else having trouble logging into Chase bank online with SM 2.31? Using the latest build of 2.31, I see these errors in the Error Console:

Timestamp: 11/04/14 9:26:53 AM
Error: list is undefined
Source File: resource://gre/modules/AppsServiceChild.jsm
Line: 112

and

Timestamp: 11/04/14 9:26:53 AM
Error: NS_ERROR_FAILURE:
Source File: https://mfasa.chase.com/auth/js/mfp.js
Line: 4

SM 2.30 has no problems with the same site.

Is this a known problem?

I don't have a log in, but I can confirm differences when attempting to log in (with an invalid un/pw).

2.30 gives:

> We're sorry, but you used a User ID and/or password that doesn't match our records. Please try again.
> Or, click "Forgot your User ID and Password?" to restore your access.

2.31 refreshes the screen, but the above error message is not presented.

(Both do note that "We recommend that you use any of the following browsers..." but I wouldn't expect that to be an actually issue. Just poor sniffing on their end.)

(SSL settings are unchanged between 2.30 & 2.31 so it looks to not be that either.)

I just tried logging in to my Chase account. Success with SM 2.30, but not 2.31. Seems to behave the same way as a bug I reported a year ago that was fixed, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=924025.
But then again, I may be wrong.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. Bank login fails with SM 2.31. RELOADED SM 2.30 and bank login is successful. How does one find out about a projected fix for this issue?

Yes, I'm having this problem too (along with a late payment charge). The password is rejected but with no error message and so I had to call their customer service(?) to get it reset and dream up a password that meets their stringent requirements. Internet explorer works fine but isn't my browser of choice.

See viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2894489 for a work-around.
