Help! I need v2.35 ASAP!

Post by Pim »

Not that I want to sound panicky or anything, but now that Firefox 38 is out, the current SeaMonkey is TWO Gecko versions behind, and there are already websites starting to complain that I'm using too old a browser.

And the MozillaWiki page says that v2.35 is the "Stable" one, while 2.33 is "not receiving any updates, insecure to use".

So, is there any word on an official release date?

By the way, I know I can download a newer version than that, but that wouldn't be the official release, would it.

Considered building it yourself if it's that important?

What is your hardware like?
What Linux OS are you running?

I have built SeaMonkey for Linux x86_64 with 2 GB RAM and one CPU in a VM, but that will take at least three hours. With 2.5 GB RAM and two CPUs it'll take about 1 hour or so.
(My SeaMonkey build machines run CentOS 6.5.)

Hm. I could consider that. Pretty sure my computer is up to it, so thanks for the tip!

Now this is not something I've ever done, but I can see how far I get on my own...
