It's not really lack of stability of SM but I've noticed MTTR has an occasional quirk that if Mail is minimized to the tray it needs to be opened from the tray icon and the standard component bar envelope does not react. I don't know how to reproduce it but it happened to me a few times. This time it just didn't occur to me to look for the Mail icon in the hidden tray area.

AFAIK it's related to new notification system in SeaMonkey... and Win7 - under WinXP it works(-ed?) correct. Yes, sometimes I've receive a message and there is no "new message icon".

Works very fine here,

but: if i install german languagepack [1] (and activate it) then the bookmarks toolbar is empty. Problem here in the Build or in the extension?

Problem is with using the wrong version of the language pack. Strict Compatibility is needed. Or the maintainer forgot to update his pack. Ask KaiRo for details.

There is currently a copy of the MTT code in comm-central (the C++ version not the js-ctypes version). Currently only used by Instantbird. I wonder if we could ship that with SeaMonkey... :idea: :idea: :arrow: :mrgreen: :-"

Yes. Not sure what version it was forked from though.

I think this might be related to the new Cache backend.

Bug 893776 will switch back to the old Cache backend.
Code: Select all
+
+// Disable cache v2 since migration has not been done, it is pending in bug 1021843.
+pref("browser.cache.use_new_backend",       0);
+pref("browser.cache.use_new_backend_temp",  false);

Well, my opinion is that every mail client should have minimize to tray built-in. It would be great to integrate that but I understand there are more important issues to resolve at the moment.

Yes, I've found that finally - I first thought the bug was fixed but in actual fact it was done so a little bit by cheating :D I thought TB had already moved to cache2 but it looks like they got stuck with the progress.

BTW, if the patch for switching to the old cache is so simple and only involves 2 lines of prefs then why not backport it to earlier SM versions? The old cache seems to resolve a few problems at once, at least for the time being, and the compacting folders crash is quite severe.

IMHO MinimizeToTray (Revied) and Quote Colors functions should be implemented in SeaMonkey - they're simple and (basically) basic... :-" :mrgreen:

I still see it (the GUI Prefs) so see if you get any change in Safe Mode.

Some, not all objects are blocked for me when I have the Pref set to Disable and deny.
