Bug: location bar doesn't change any more

Post by Pim »

Since a while now (at least a month) I noticed that the location bar doesn't change when clicking links.
So for example, I can type in http://www.mozillazine.org/ and then click through to the SeaMonkey Builds forum, but the location bar keeps saying http://www.mozillazine.org/.
I can even click a link to a completely different domain, like the phpBB link here to the right, that doesn't matter; the location bar won't budge. Only if I open a link in a new tab (or window) does the location bar reflect the new location.

This is with the SeaMonkey 64 bit nightly build (latest-comm-central-trunk) under Linux. No problem with the release version (2.40).
And once more, I can't find anything about this in bugzilla. Which is strange, because I can't imagine that nobody else ever noticed this. I can't be the only one using this build?!

This is Bug 1272401:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1272401

Affects 2.45 to 2.47. The patch works well (or lets say I have no problems with it) but I reused a lot of Firefox code 1:1 which is not directly related to the bug and Ratty is still looking into it.

Are you sure that's the same bug? It's about the back and forward buttons (which work normally on my nightly) and doesn't mention the location bar at all.

My home page in Linux Nightly of SeaMonkey is the default home page. The location bar always shows that URL no matter what site I open in SeaMonkey. I'm also on Linux.

Yes.

Not only. I didn't have the problem with them either.

The actual back/forward bug is:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1270848

The hope is that Bug 1272401 fixes this too.

I am not seeing that with Mac SeaMonkey. Back and Forward and links work as expected for me.

You mean, with the regular release? I was speaking about the nightly builds, the trunks.
