Is SeaMonkey going to remove bookmark descriptions in a future build, like Fx already has?
I ask that you please do not - I use this functionality! (and apparently so do many Fx users)

You are safe till 2.57. This was removed in backend core code so if we are able to use later Gecko code it probably needs to go.
The future after 2.57 is uncertain anyway. I personally would rather fork than use the thing they now still call Gecko but without devs...
