well, it's like this, no squint plus stopped working again today, for the en'th time. it control colors on a global basis.
so I just disable it even though it was not working anyway, now when I go into FF esr 52.2.1 options and set colors, (never really changed them), they don't work. specifically the blue for unread and the red for visited links don't work.
any suggestions will be appreciated.

That's OK, but what should I try if I just want to take no squint out, tired of the continually stopping over time. I deleted it and could not get FF colors to work. The ones listed under content, for links visiting a web page or returning to it.

NoSquint at all is not replaceable, only in parts (zoom).

Version 54.0 of NoSquint Plus should work in all Firefox releases, so make sure to update if you still have this issue.

Includes both de & en-US, so you should be good.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: colors stopped working
Some changes are made in this special and some strings are translated to German.
There is an edit in the tooltip text and some strings in the XHTML JS files in the lib folder have been translated as well.
The id had to be changed (zoomlevelplus@coronos.com) to allow submitting for signing, so you won't be able to update this version.
Note that the kill switch isn't accidentally removed, but the time is set to a date in the next century (4126993200: Oct 12, 2100).
I would personally have commented out the line with the date check with a leading '//'.
