posting image

Post by bob c »

I was going to do a reply post--would not work, so I tried new post won't work--it tells me that bbc code, img, url is all on, but even if the image I wanted to put in the message was being host by another server, instead of my desktop, when I click on img in the message body, it inserts that into the message then nothing, noway to upload the image from anywhere. So what am I doing wrong.

after update: test firefox in safe-mode please:

or

well, maybe there's something else to try. I have tried now again, after reading your post reply, and originally when I 1st tried to post the image, in FF ESR and the new FF57, and neither one will let me do it, even though it states img is on. I get no way to upload the image. I think I know what I'm doing, I've posted images on one of the biggest swim forums in the country, the same way it should be done here, with no problem, so any other idea as what the problem may be.

thanks

address of the forum you try to post images?
address of image hoster?

any error message? image hoster is allowed? (some are forbidden in several forums)

this is one of the forums

https://www.troublefreepool.com/forum.php

that I have posted images to. I don't need to have my image on a server somewhere. When I click on img (insert image) in that forum, a box comes up asking where the image is, host or (me), I select my file from my desktop, and download it into the message or post that I am writing. If I', not mistaken, this should be acting the same way, I'm wrting a post, I click on img, and it should ask for the image from somewhere, but it does not ask me anything. It does not even respond. I was trying to post a image of what my FF57 looked like up to this point in time, with the customization I have done. The thread for it has about 12 replies right now I think, but I can't which is why this thread is here.

Working on my end.

You click the 'Manage Attachments' button.
A new window (tab) opens.
You add your picture from that other tab, File Manager.
Added picture shows up in the Post tab.

So maybe your blocking popups or ?

(Tested in SeaMonkey, not FF, but you've got to figure it'll work just the same.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

this has gotten misleading, by me, going back reading my post. the trouble is this forum, not letting me post an image. My last post where I said "I was trying to post a image of what my FF57 looked like up to this point in time, with the customization I have done. The thread for it has about 12 replies right now I think, but I can't post an image which is why this thread is here." It is this forum that won't let me post an image. Trouble free pools, is one of the forums I post to, using the exact same method as here, but when I select img, (here) to post the image in my post, nothing happens, this site won't even ask where the image is. It does nothing. The same method used in Trouble free pool, when I select img, at least ask me where the image is, then I upload it. Here, at mozillazine, when I select img to upload the photo into the post, it does not do anything, does not even ask me where the image is, nothing. I am not blocking popups, or anything in FF ESR or FF57

Lets try a different approach. This forum has never allowed direct image posting.
Read here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Posting_a_scr ... _the_forum on how to post an image.
As noted above upload your image here: https://imgbox.com/
Then given the infomation I assume there will a hotlink or BBC code to post here in the forums to display your image.

The [img] tags are for a image hosted by say a image hosting site.

As said this independent mozillaZine forums has never allowed a user to upload a image on forum due to some big reasons like database load and especially due to the large amount of spam this forum has gotten over the years. However people viewing the forum may not see spam so much now days since March 2011 due to new members first post requiring post approval and then can post normally and Guest posting was disabled in Support sections.

Mozilla does allow image attachments on their own support forum at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/ and mods/admins can monitor images however they never implmented it so you can easily see all uploads regardless of locale section.
