Re: What does your FF57 look like?
A FF I happened to have opened.
It happened to have the "Edit" [extension] panel open.
It happened to be laid out as you see it.
I happened to be looking at an AMO review.
I jumped away to something else.
I came back & was literally bewildered by what I saw - because it simply wasn't making sense to me.
I couldn't understand why the rightmost tab was so tall?
Then I said to myself, here I am looking at the "review", how to I get back to the extension page itself?
Then this black blob strikes me & I think, isn't that striking.
And then the Edit blob took its turn.
And I said to myself, isn't that about the most hideous thing ever - I have to take a shot of that!
And see that, it came in handy .

With that setup, maybe you want to clear the haze from the navigation and bookmarks toolbars. If so, add this to userChrome.css:Grumpus wrote:After tabs and bookmarks toobar
After the tabs adjustment
Code: Select all
#nav-bar,
#PersonalToolbar {
background: transparent !important;
}

Re: What does your FF57 look like?
@Gingerbread Man - Thanks, I was hoping someone would come up with that. Will try it on 57, not needed on this system yet.

Or you can use an extension:

To hide titlebar (using Stylish or userChrome.css):Code: Select all
#titlebar { display: none !important; }
Sorry for my poor English.

Re: What does your FF57 look like?
Well, here's my effort so far...
ff52 before (actually current)
...and ff57 after (actually wannabe)
It does, of course, disguise that the web extensions are a poor excuse of the add-ons they once were. That using userChrome.css (instead of Stylish) is painful (not helped by the fact that I have no restart option under ff57). I am looking forward to my tabs being down the bottom of the screen (where they belong ), and having a status bar where my add-ons can live. And, as I prepare for my pig to fly, the return of so many lost add-ons.

Re: What does your FF57 look like?
Here's my upgrade.
The "Clear Transparent Glass" theme suits me.
Pity that RFLC has decided not to keep the Green & Blue cats themes going.
[edit]
I miss the bottom Status bar & the GO button.
Any way to get them back?
I've looked at Aris' .css codes pages but couldn't find anything relevant.

Don't forget that the New Tab page can also be styled, without needing any extensions.
I haven't looked at this latest horror at all, but about:config and browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled to false shows the slightly more tolerable one again in 57.
The code goes in userContent.css and can be as basic or complex as you like, ranging from a simple background (as here) or your picture of choice right up to restyling the boxes and hiding stuff, etc.
Here's the most basic -

Stock default Mac theme, except for a CSS tweak to increase the height of the Bookmarks Toolbar.
I've given up on aesthetic changes, and now only take the effort to make functional changes.

Very pretty. I wish I had the photogenic new design as a poster on my wall, and the old, functional design on my screen...

So, that does that mean that FlashStopper is coming soon?
