old to new or 32 bit to 64 bit

So it has been suggested to me that when I go to keep my Bookmarks and Firefox settings and extensions, to just move via usb stick the Mozilla folder from my 32 bit Linux OS to the new 64 bit Linux OS. Can I do this? Should I delete the new Mozilla folder before I install the old one, as is suggested in this website for windows

A quick look, looked good.
So long as you have backups, you should be good.

Fire 750, bring back 250.
