Moving Adresses to Bcc in Bulk

How do I Bcc a large number of addresses from an address book?

If I select them in the opened address book window (shift-click first and last) and right click to "write", they all appear in the "to" field. I can then highlight them one-by-one with ctrl-click and right click those selected to "move to Bcc". But I see no why to select them all at once. Ctrl-shift does not wok in the "To" field. Moving them one at a time to Bcc would take to long.

Don't depend on just the address book itself. While in the compose window, press F9 to display the Contact Sidebar. Select your addressees using Shift+Click and/or Ctrl+Click, then click on the "Add to BCC" button at the bottom of the sidebar.

Would make sense to me if this worked the same from within the address book.
