ummm, since it's obvious I guess I shouldn't be asking... but where is the poll leading?

To the second option, of course. Unless Windows users suddenly feel like saying they mainly use Phoenix on Linux.

i guess i kinda thought it was interesting. *shrug* then again i'm weird. :) in this poll we see not a normal break-down of windows/linux users, i don't think, unless only 63% of the entire internet-browsing community uses windows, and the rest use linux at least part of the time. i think that's saying something for how well phoenix works for linux users, if their % is 37. (and yes i know this poll isn't err-proof, but the general message is still there.)

I guess most (if not all) of the Windows people using Phoenix can't be considered average (the average Windows user hasn't even heard about Phoenix yet), that's why the numbers in this poll will never reflect the actual Windows/Linux user ratio.

maybe it just means those of us windows users who found phoenix are special then, and it's counting the number of smart people? :D

Isn't "being smart" and "using Windows" a contradiction in terms?

i need windows for some of my programs. ;) and i actually like my system, believe it or not. lol. however, i know the diff between being totally for m$ and only liking what works for me. my winme os works for me and so does word 2000 (not xp). i won't use winxp, or hotmail (well, ok, i have hotmail as my spam address. hehe), or msn, or all that other stuff. but *sigh* you're right, i still do use m$. however, on my defense, m$ couldn't have gotten where they are today without a *little* of being the best. one of these days when my programs can run on linux, they might convert me over to a new os like phoenix has converted me from ie. ;)

I am using Phoenix on Windoze cuz my company does not use Linux
(damn! them... ). I think there should be an option for this also:

"I am forced to use Phoenix on Windows"

cheers :-)

I use RedHat 8.0 and XP as my workstations at work. Exclusively RedHat 7.3 at home. I've been wanting to install Phoenix on my XP box but haven't gotten 'round to it. :( (Well I don't do too much Web surfing at work anyway.)

thanks.. ;)
I'm surprised by the number of Windows users..

It was an easy choice. :) Especially now that Phoenix remember the folder last downloaded to, it's even more useful. Can't think of much that IE has but Phoenix hasn't.

I guess that was a joke but those jokes are as old as my grandmother. There are several reasons to use Windows, mainly because you're forced to at work, but also because you use software and/or games that doesn't exist for other OS'es and don't have time to maintain two operating systems.

Stay calm... My own Windows/Linux usage ratio is about 70/30; never heard of self-mockery?

the most stable OS I ever used, Win XP Pro. pretty long ago since it was released, and since then, it crashed* only twice (caused by 3rd party apps), and absolutely no problems whatsoever... Mandrake crashed more often in one week than XP in all these months.

*and I'm a hardcore user, I torture my OS's :D

oh, about "User Ratios", Google's Zeitgeist always had a graph that showed which OS's were used to access Google, but it doesnt seem to be there anymore :|

Linux was at 2%, Mac at 5% and +90% Windows
