I hope not Firebird! It sounds too ordinary.....same goes for Thunderbird....no fancy history. (I preferred Minotaur over Thunderbird). Actually whoever suggested Proxima and Centauri for the browser/mail suite has a good point, though Proxima and Centauri on their own don't stand for much. Perhaps, something like Aurora and Atlantis would work......modeled on the same idea but changed to Aurora Atlantis rather than Aurora Borealis and Australis which do not exist....
Otherwise, how about Vajra or Thor for the browser, Tyla for the mailer, something else in a similar vein for the composer (if one comes up, eventually)?
Sho, these polls are an attempt to summarize the long suggestion thread.
If there are names from that thread that you think people want, start a part 3 poll, just make sure you do not duplicate or use names that have already been shot down because they are taken.
The problem with the long suggestion thread is that it is LONG and there are many many duplicates and posts of names that were already shot down because alot of people dont want to spend an hour reading through that whole thread(because it is so long.)
I do understand your intentions Apollo, I'm just not sure I share them. In the end, it's the developers reading the long thread. It's them who will chose the name. These polls make it look otherwise. Having multiple polls decentralizes again. So, no, I don't think it was a good idea. But it's a free forum. And who knows, maybe it's helpful to the developers.
Believe me, this is not just about my suggestiong missing in your poll.
it's good cuz it will keep the "trip" (aka roadmap) of this bird as it has been.
I'm always wondering what town the next she falls to the ground to rest.
I agree. I only put it on because of repeated requests.
I'm thinking of closing this flawed poll and starting a new one. Except that only Firebird and Zephyr have gotten appreciable numbers. They are in a dead heat with None of The Above as I write this (23 each).
This is the name of the horse of odin, highes god in the norse mythology. He has 8 legs and is the fastest steed. His name means smooth or gliding, hence the English word, slippery.
