Make it possible to switch off then
Other than that this seemes to be a good build (besides that problem with AOL-pages) - on the right track anyway.

Question: Will the latest 0.6.1 RC build be on the Index of/pub/firebird/nightly/latest-truck webpage or would it be more updated from Pg. 1 of this thread by Asa?
Logically speaking...they should both be the same build?
******EDIT******
OK...got you, there's where my confusion lays...'Branch build' & 'Trunk build'

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firebird/nightly/latest-1.5a/ should have the latest branch build.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply...for it is a little confusing...I have used in the past the Firebird-webinstall-beta8.exe for installing the latest rv:1.5b (Nightly) builds, so I guess this great installer will have to be 'tweaked' in order for it to automatically D/L the most recent 0.6.1 RC builds rv:1.5a from Index of ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firebird/nightly/latest-1.5a/ (Latest Branch build)
I have no complaints/issues with installing a 0.6.1 rv:1.5a .zip build but was just curious...
So I'm clear about this...the latest 0.6.1 trunk rv:1.5b .zip build is available from:
http://ftp35.newaol.com/pub/firebird/ni ... est-trunk/
*************EDIT*************
I just installed 0.6.1 RC 20030726 1.5a...and yes it is faster then any previous build that I have had with Firebird...
Will now thoroughly 'bang on it' for stability (thus far has been great!) but looking into the Chrome Dir at the chrome.rdf file (as Sailfish reported) the skinVersion="1.2" on this 'RC' so I will now install some of my favorite themes from our forum colleague, Lynchknot...very cool

Confirmed, just wanted to post this too.
Did a clean install with new profile.
Yes...strange...confirmed.

Ok, I think I'll stick with the last official release for now. I was a
bit hesitant about loosing a bunch of my extensions (because most don't
install to your profile), so then I just backed up my firebird directory.
I unzipped it, and it indeed lost abunch of my extensions (only had 5 out
of about 20 that made it), as well as other settings (like it reset my
startup page). Next I just copied over my old components folder, just to
see what it'd do (I figured, best case scenario, I get everything back,
and worse case scenario I have a few things dorked up). Well, what
happened was Firebird crashing because of memory errors ("The instruction at "0x0041716e" referenced memory at "076616e47". the memory could not be "written"."). I was able to limp it around enough to see, the only change was it was puking errors (no additional extensions).
