Shows fine for me, the only oddity that I can see is that the description text for each image has a table larger than the image. But I'm assuming you want them to be the same size, if not then just ignore me :)

It doesn't show for me in Phoenix 5, either, but W3C has a few things to say about your <A HREF="http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thomasevensen.org&warning=1&profile=css2">CSS</A>

It also found a few errors in your <A HREF="http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thomasevensen.org%2F&charset=utf-8+%28Unicode%2C+worldwide%29&doctype=HTML+4.01+Transitional">HTML</A>. (Note, in particular, line 83 of your source code where you have an extra " mark in a tag.) Since you're declaring the document as HTML 4.0, which has been deprecated, I had to force 4.01 Transitional and an encoding of utf-8 to get the validator to parse the document.

Also, when the page first loaded and I tried to right-click to view the source, it gave me a JavaScript recursion error.

Don't know if any of this will be helpful, but there you go.

Ignore that part of my reply; it wasn't a JavaScript error, but an error within the browser itself -- I'm getting it on other pages, as well. Time to check for a bug relating to this, I guess.

Yes, but you use broken CSS

You have body { overflow: auto;}
However you have 0 content on the page (everything is positioned = removes it from the flow)
Thus the total height of your site is 0px.

Remove the unnecessary overflow rule from your CSS code and the page should show up.

. . . and his page shows only a background in Px0.5 and Moz1.2.1. Yet in IE6 it shows images and text (poor contrast, small and hard to read, but it's all there).

So how come IE can digest bad code and keep running while Moz and Phoenix cannot?

This is not a feature of IE, it's a bug. If it would handle this correctly, the page author would probably have noticed his mistake immediately.

IE is not trying to enforce good programming and standards.

So how'd you say how to write and test a page? Write it, then test if it works in IE and if it does it must be OK? Try and error? That's very exhausting, because the numerous little and not so little bugs in different IE versions related to CSS are nowhere properly documented.
