on linux where does the user.js file belong?

i have tried it at ~/.phoenix/default, ~/.phoenix/default/myprofiledir, and ~/.phoenix/default/myprofiledir/chrome

none of those 3 places works for me.

here is my user.js file:

// Put an end to blink tags!
user_pref("browser.blink_allowed", false);

// Disable those annoying <marquee> tags!
user_pref("browser.display.enable_marquee", false);

// This one makes a huge difference. Last value in milliseconds (default is 1200)
user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 0);

// Enable pipelining:
user_pref("network.http.pipelining", true);
user_pref("network.http.proxy.pipelining", true);
user_pref("network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", 100);

~/.phoenix/default/xxxxxx.slt/

Your problem is that you have some wrong stuff in there. The user_pref() stuff goes in user.js
The MSKB stuff belongs in userContent.css which goes ing xxxxxxxxxx.slt/chrome/

look at about:config and see if the preference is being picked up. I don't see anything wrong.

I also have the same problem with marquee. In about:config it says that both user_pref("browser.blink_allowed", false) user_pref("browser.display.enable_marquee", false) are false, and only blink works.

Ok, so it sounds like it is ignoring the pref. Check to see if it is a Mozilla problem or a Phoenix problem, then file a bug.
