Are you using Windows 2000? Probably was installed without your selection as part of the update to Firefox 11, to inform you that your Operating System won't be supported anymore. Refer to your first screenshot.

Why don't you follow instructions, and install Opera as was suggested in this post.

Irrelevant issue, when 13 comes out I'll boot install it into my W2K.

Secondly, the complaint I had after the initial one was the DIALOG KEPT POPPING UP AND NOBODY WAS OFFERING ME THE MEANS TO MAKE IT STOP.

Thank you.

Can you disable that extension? If you still get prompted, have you tried changing your user agent string to say you're using Windows XP?

Since you can't even install and use the version of Visual Studio on W2K, that Firefox 13 is going to be built with, I'm sure your step by step instructions for your boot install will be greatly appreciated in another thread.

If disabling the the hotfix extension doesn't stop the dialog, try upgrading your operating system to one that still supports Firefox.

Those are Windows XP SP2, Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and soon Windows 8.

Good Luck!

Somewhat agreed. I don't know how true this is, but apparently (according to Asa that is) SPDY won't support Win2k. It will be introduced in Firefox 13. Firefox 10 will be supported for longer than Firefox 12, so you may as well put up with it.

Nothing keeps SPDY from working with XP. The issue was that adding SPDY (and other features) to Firefox pushed the memory needed to compile Firefox past the limit for a 32 bit system, so they had to upgrade from VS2008 to VS2010, which can't compile binaries for W2k. At least if I understand correctly.

I think that's the general story, they've claimed that they've been unable to do other things without VS2010 as well. But someone here claims VS2010 will compile for W2K with the right library, if that's true it's probably mosty just an excuse to drop support and move on.
