Firefox Image viewing background

After the most recent update (14.0.1) the background colour when viewing an image has changed from an easy-on-the-eyes dark grey to a god awful retina burning bright white. Was this intentional? And if it was, is there a way i can change the colour back without having to kick Firefox back to the previous release? (not that that isn't an option i am considering.)
This is quite an issue for me as my eyes are very sensitive to bright light and i use a large display for my computer. Here are before and after shots to help explain what i'm trying to say. Before: http://i49.tinypic.com/34pyi61.jpg (shot pulled from a different topic since i didn't think to ever take that kind of screenshot before the update) After: http://i49.tinypic.com/2wfuu6o.png Thank you for your time and assistance, also i apologize if i have posted this in the wrong section. The update should have (and does, for me at least) just changed the background directly behind the image to white, to stop the complaints about Firefox destroying the ability to view transparent images.
Try restarting Firefox with addons disabled to make sure that an addon hasn't messed with it.
And that is exactly what it has done, change the background to white. However due to the sensitivity of my eyes the white is nearly blinding and almost painful to look at. It would be nice if i could change it back to the dark grey that it was prior to the update (i have never had any issue with that background colour and transparent images.) If this isn't possible than i will have to track down the previous version of Firefox and kick it back. Again, thanks for the assistance! This addon looks like it can be customized to do what you want: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... age-style/
Sounds like out of the box it'll revert to the old, completely white background, with the image back in the top-left corner of the page, but the color is customizable and you can set it to recenter the images. Brilliant! You're a lifesaver. Me and my eyes thank you and the developer of that add-on a million times over.
In recent versions the handling for the image background shifted from Firefox to the installed theme. cryptanthus appears to be using a theme which is either missing this support, or the author has chosen to revert it to white as it was for all time previous to a few months ago.
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.
