top 5 only PLEASE. suggest names in the other thread or pm me with a name you want added. please please please do NOT turn this into another name suggestion thread. if you want to include your own name in your top 5, go for it. just don't tell why. all we're after is a top 5 list, preferably without bullets so it's easier to copy/paste them later into another txt file.

-= here's a more complete list of all names as i see them =-

2. Equinox
3. Neophix
4. Moebius
5. px

Where's number 1? Number one cannot be listed due to copyright reasons, but it is the current name of the browser we're talking about. :(

Strike Voyager from my list - it is already used as a broswer name:

What would be better than a list of what someone feels are the subjectively 'sensible' names is a list which marks or excludes those that would be unusable because of prior use / trademark issues.

Perhaps there's no point to a sensible list. I didn't think Nirvana was a likely name, but someone else did... Thanks for the updated complete list Flii.

Helpful note to list makers: I use metapad as my notepad, and was able to actually select names and then drag and drop them, much quicker than copying and pasting them. Don't know if Windows notepad allows this, I killed it long ago.

What do people use to do a "sort unique" operation?

Preventative reminder: No illa names or names that sound like phoenix. No new names. no bullets, commas or quotes. And remember that this name has to appeal to a lot of people.

I hate "sensible name for a browser"

Post by Faux Pass »

Names that are "sensible for a browser" are usually also sensible names for electric toothbrushes, email clients, gourmet cookware, and long-distance calling plans. They are almost entirely without character, simply because the people who named it were trying way too hard to give their product a heroic spin. I much prefer a name that provokes a strong (possibly even negative) reaction in the reader.

Like "Mozilla" itself, in fact.

And so, I present you with the best five names on alanjstr's list:

BoneDaddy
Dimples
Mistral
Yacare
Zoster

Oh yes.

wtf-ing f! 5 people helped create that list. i'm hosting it. it is not one person's list, it is a list of all suggested names all 5 of us could find. however, let's keep this thread to only name favorites. nightfly created another thread for discussion. i'd like to see this thread stay as small as possible, with only 5-name suggestions, no matter what anyone else thinks about those name.

please.... :(
