Chromecast extension for Firefox?

This looks cool,
But it seems is requires a controller based on Chrome, Android, or iOS.

Try to convince the blink folks that it'll be more useful if they allow
others to leverage it
, and then get involved with making it a more decent

I was just introduced to Chromecast by my son. I did, however, have to download Chrome to be able to use Chromecast. I think this Chrome tool is extremely useful and should be an area to be concentrated on when providing improvements to Firefox. I think there may even be improvements made to way Chromecast is enabled for Firefox. Perhaps an agreement could be reached between Google and Firefox to allow an addon to Firefox to be developed. (Such an agreement may be useful to Chrome as an intro to Google's browser.)
