How do I open a new site in tab

Actually the best thing IMO would be a multi-document interface... like Opera... so windows are tabs and tabs are windows... this means you can have resized windows (like the "Add Smilies" one) with their own tab... But there seems to be a long way for Phoenix (& Mozilla...) towards this...
