How do USERS get the Firefox they want?http://forums.mozilla

Post by DrakeJones »

I know that you developers are very happy with yourselves, but not the the people you ambush back-stabbed with FF29. You're not shy about insulting us disenamored end-users either. You boys on Google's or Microsoft's payroll now? It appears that Firefox Developers are worshiping at the feet of Microsoft and Google trying to force us idiot Firefox end-users into an icon driven universe from which there is no return. You guys are really some ballsy folk. At least 80% of Firefox users hate you for the way you are treating us Firefox users. It makes no sense IN THE REAL WORLD OF 80%+ FIREFOX USERS for you to have done what you did. If your objective is to kill off Firefox, you are doing GREAT?

Hi,
What can I say?

Only that, "we" are not mozilla.com/.org & have absolutely no say in what happens to Firefox.

Please ref; the bottom box on the RHS. ---------------------------------------------->>

I'd suggest that you go complain to "them."
Help > Submit feedback.

Good luck.

Moving this to Firefox General...

Oh yeah. There's a "Sticky" at the top of the Support forum that you may want to look at.
Just install one extension (CTR) & a tad of Customising & you're back to "normal."

What an attitude. Yup. I'm just a BS rube. That's what developers think of Firefox users and you can't contain your contempt for us. You can of course use the Google and get a link like https://mail.mozilla.org/pipermail/fire ... t-0001.pdf where it details the understated 80% negative. Those are numbers from Mozilla. But since you already know everything you are familiar with the data.

By the way, as of this writing more that 367,000 users have downloaded the "nearly" Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) 1.1.8 by Aris.

Thanks for showing the community your "I am God" mindset. A mindset that inevitably ends badly for its end-user.

AS noted, "mozillaZine is an independent Mozilla community and advocacy site. We're not affiliated or endorsed by the Mozilla Corporation." Note that the article is from November 24, 2013 which as before 29 was released.

You write as though there was a 11th Commandment written on the tablets of stone hauled around by Moses, that read 'Thou shall make an Internet Browser called Firefox in 2003 or so '. There wasn't.

Firefox didn't have to exist at all. They owe you nothing and you paid nothing. Don't like what they did? Fix it or use something else.

The bookmarks toolbar doesn't comeback... I want bookmarks at a glace, not a massive sidebar that I have to pop open every time I want to check a different site. And that nonsensical bunch of mini icons that take up more vertical space than the pre-FF29 layout doesn't want to die.

"We have nothing to do with Firefox..." It's odd how no one is a developer in any of the forums that we end-users get to post to. It's almost as if the developers don't care what we want, and only their opinion means anything.

I think the Devs use the various google groups. We do, from time to time, successfully advocate for a change.

You can keep pressing on, but you'll just make yourself look silly. So much better for everyone if you had just bothered to read this here first - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2824649

Click the 'Hamburger' Menu Button, then 'Customize' and select the Bookmark Toolbar from the bottom of the Customize Window, as shown in the screenshots.

Too much trouble? 'Why should users have to...etc'? Right click the Nav Bar and select it from there instead.

And more than 250,000,000 have not. That despite it, quite rightly, being pimped across the entire Net for months.

Spoken like a true holier than thou developer. Maybe Firefox shouldn't exist. It's mimicking Chrome, so why even have Firefox?

So how do we take back Firefox from the heroic developers who owe us nothing? They seem to be a rather aloof and anonymous group - except for their push-back on criticism.

Easy. 'We' learn to code. That's what I did.

And how many of those people ambushed into FF29 are happy about the new Firefox (or more aptly, ChromeFox)? Most people don't know how to or are afraid to mess with a browser interface at that level. You were counting on that.

Maybe in your town, but elsewhere it's pretty well-known that Firefox has themes and extensions for it.

'Messing with a browser interface at that level' is not that hard when all it requires is just one press on an 'Install' button.

That's funny! Sure! Everyone should be able to write code for a browser! That's brilliant! Every end-user who doesn't like the new ChromeFox should learn to code to undo what the "official" developer community has done. Microsoft should tell people who don't like Windows 8 the same thing. Another alternative is for developers to build their own private flavors of Firefox and give end-users back the freedom to customize Firefox as we see fit - as we did before the FF29 release/ambush. That way everybody would get what they want. Without the power-trip, of course.
