Would you knock off the "You" BS please.

I would certainly doubt that folks would be all the frighten to use a menu. The major problem is that it isn'l all the easy to find.

As for the various extensions you can use to make 29 look more like 28, that is the point of extensions and themes. None of these would exist if the authors were content with how 29 looked and worked.

Easy. 'We' learn to code. That's what I did.

That's funny! Sure! Everyone should be able to write code for a browser! That's brilliant! Every end-user who doesn't like the new ChromeFox should learn to code to undo what the "official" developer community has done. Microsoft should tell people who don't like Windows 8 the same thing. Another alternative is for developers to build their own private flavors of Firefox and give end-users back the freedom to customize Firefox as we see fit - as we did before the FF29 release/ambush. That way everybody would get what they want. Without the power-trip, of course.

Everyone who doesn't like the new version should use the various tricks to make it more like 28.

If you want to lead the fight to reclaim firefox you need to learn to code or hire the talent you need to lead fight.

If you ask a mechanic how to change the head gasket on your car, they will tell you how to change the head gasket on your car.

Ask a theme and extension developer how to change Firefox and guess what answer you'll get back.

Maybe in your town, but elsewhere it's pretty well-known that Firefox has themes and extensions for it.

'Messing with a browser interface at that level' is not that hard when all it requires is just one press on an 'Install' button.

We call what you're engaging in "obfuscation". Yes, even in my town.

You're telling me that any user can configure FF29 to look and behave like FF28 at the touch of button? Even in my town? The Classic Theme Restore only restores some of the features end-users are unhappy about losing.

That and about five minutes. It restores most of the features most folks want.

Says the guy who sidestepped answering this -

You can keep pressing on, but you'll just make yourself look silly. So much better for everyone if you had just bothered to read this here first - viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2824649

Click the 'Hamburger' Menu Button, then 'Customize' and select the Bookmark Toolbar from the bottom of the Customize Window, as shown in the screenshots.

Too much trouble? 'Why should users have to...etc'? Right click the Nav Bar and select it from there instead.

Yeah. End-users are just stupid. We don't know what we want. On the other side of the human condition, developers such as yourself are totally superior in every way.

DrakeJones wrote:"We have nothing to do with Firefox..." It's odd how no one is a developer in any of the forums that we end-users get to post to. It's almost as if the developers don't care what we want, and only their opinion means anything.

The mozillaZine forums really is not a part of nor run by Mozilla. Unlike a typical Mozilla site which has say mozilla.org links on top/bottom (or right/left side even) this one does not as it is independent from Mozilla.

http://www.mozillazine.org/about/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MozillaZine

The mozillaZine.org site stared as of February 23, 1998 and later this forum started as of November 4, 2002 which was a couple years before Firefox users increased by a huge amount when 1.0 was released on November 9, 2004 (which was nothing special over the previous releases like 0.9.3). This forum is run and paid for by one individual for several years now which also explains the Google Ads if you do not have them blocked.

As said Mozilla does have their own support forum for Firefox which did not really get going in usable fashion until 2008 and more stable until say 2010. The Thunderbird support was only just added earlier this year as it was moved from Get Satisfaction. Some people involved with Firefox for desktop or mobile do post there. https://support.mozilla.org/questions

Any Mozilla employee involved with say Firefox generally spend time in places like Mozilla newsgroups, bugzilla.mozilla.org, support.mozilla.org before coming to this independent forum.

We still get some people occasionally posting like a couple of SeaMonkey devs or a couple that are involved with mobile Firefox for Android.

Actually according to Alex Bishop, a former Admin, mozillaZine was originally going to be a guitar website. viewtopic.php?p=1808621#p1808621

The statistics say that you made up that statistic.

I wasn't going to give more life to this topic ... but what the hell :-"

At least 80% of statistics are made up on the spot

Waaaaaaay back in the cold-war-era (so many people around here don't even know what that war was about)... anyway... the Soviet Union had published a news article in Pravda (basically the Govs. lackey news feed) that stated that there was a contest between auto makers. The story was a very short one and said that their entry into the contest came in 2nd place and that the U.S. came in second to last. What that really said was that the U.S. beat the SH** out of them and came in first and that they came in second... and BTW ... there were only two entries in the whole thing... the U.S. and them.

Can't believe everything you read... even way back then.

As for the OP... it only took 80% of all those B.S. posts to finally get it locked in the brain that we are not the devs. of Firefox... so what can I say ... wait... maybe that was 79% and not 80.

Maybe a LOCK would be in order?
As you can see she's (The CAT) always alert and on the prowl for Meoware !!
