addon signing requirement plus addon overhaul worries
When addon signing is enforced how are we going to be able to install old abandoned addons or addons i get off site. I have several and i have addons i version bump. I currently disable all that in about:config This addon signing requirement is going to suck! Will we be able to disable it if we choose or are we going to be forced to always have it enabled? I am going to be gritting my teeth when i cannot use my fav addons anymore. Then i have another worry. The overhaul of the extensions api will break most of my useful addons that have functionality. I am worried about stuff like dowmthemall, imagehost grabber, tabmixplus, video download helper, image search options, greasemonkey, stylish, adblockplus, keyword search, and a whole host of addons i need breaking and then having to use an old outdated browser for the foreseeable future or to switch to waterfox. I do not want a neutered browser like google chrome that lacks functionality customizability and extensions that are not very powerful, My redirect cleaner is already broke in the new nightly. Still works in older firefox just fine. None of the others work correctly and i need them to browse certain crappy sites that have redirects as it fixes the links so i can get to the real url without it taking me to the wrong place 3 out of 4 times i click the link. There are no good addons for google chrome that do anything useful for me. Most chrome addons are a big joke, Lacking in functionality Cant change anything about the browser. I really hope firefox doesn't become another google chrome as i will be a man without a web browser if that happens. I use this abandoned addon https finder from google code archive along with https everywhere. I don't want it to break as there is no other addon i know of that finds the https version of a page when you click a link and takes you to it. I hate using http and only use it when a website does not offer https. That is slowly changing thanks to google ranking sites higher with https and the Let’s Encrypt certificate authority providing free ssl certificates for all.

Darn hard to read it all like that.

Once "webextensions" hit [I guess more accurately, once XUL is removed] is watefox planning to go its own way in some manner or the other?or to switch to waterfox

Re: addon signing requirement plus addon overhaul worries
Sorry i haven't been around for awhile i will have to read up on things i was just recently reading news articles and a post on downthemall's website about how a lot of addons will no longer work in the future unless you want addons that don't really have any functionality like google chromes addons. and sorry about my crappy post. i was up very late and i was extremely tired. Also sorry about how i wrote my post i will try to modify it once i wake up from my slumber i have never been good at or know how to properly format writing, Lets say i never finished school back when i was a kid and only have a 14 and a half year education.
