Alternative to FEBE please? SORTED
As I have an ancient pc I am keen to keep a record of my bookmarks, add-ons. and their individual settings for the inevitable move to a newer one some day .... may it be ages away yet!
I have been using FEBE with no probs until recently (two Firefox updates ago) but now it comes up as incompatible after I clean the cookies/cache and has to be reinstalled each time.
Once I have done this and set it to backup on the first of every month it then pops a reminder at me whenever I open Firefox to tell me I have missed one even though I did an extra one in the hope of pacifying it. Did try to talk to the add-ons writer but we got nowhere sadly.
So, is there an alternative please folks?

Sure - completely quit Firefox, then copy C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ to an external drive.

Hi Roz,
As barbaz said....
It's really easy just to back up your Profile, manually.
Create a folder somewhere, desk top is always a good choice & stick it in there, each time.
Q?
Do you have any kind of clock that you can set alarms on?
There are heaps of free ones.
ClocX is one that I use & have set numerous alarms as reminders.
Maybe just use that & do manual back ups, occasionally.

Re: Alternative to FEBE please? SORTED
I guess to add stuff here... I also use FEBE but I do not use its reminder... I use an external app for that... which I won't mentions since THE ROBOT has posted a good one for you... so, I'll assume that you will continue to use FEBE ...as it runs fine here.

Re: Alternative to FEBE please? SORTED
Just a FWIW...
I opened v50.1.0 & installed FEBE v8.9.3.1, but upon trying to open it's prefs/options to set my selections,
all I got was a warning box from FEBE at the bottom right & a lot of beeps/screeches & I could not close it down.
I had to kill Firefox v50 to shut it off.
Something about..."Cannot load data...." or similar.
Weird stuff.

Re: Alternative to FEBE please? SORTED
Just a FYI .... I had to create a blank profile yesterday because I messed up my userChrome.css file so I had to restore a FEBE backup into that new profile, got this profile back to normal... but what I'm saying is that I had no issues with any of the options... plus just checked this install and the screen displayed with no issues.... don't know why yours is having an issue.... a Win10 deal? ... which would be weird.
EDIT ... BTW... same version as yours.

Hi df,
Just to "refresh your old 'n' apparently (getting worse), failing memory",
I mentioned this before.....
Do not take my UA as gospel.
I do not run WIN 10....It's just sitting there in one of my other drives.
I set it to dual boot, but I've never actually fired it up yet.
&, No Roz.
It's not just you.

You picking on me? Yeah, I now remember that you have mentioned that before... but with all of the 'mentioning' of all the various 'things' around here... I'm sure that I'll continue to file it away into my 'round file'... take care over there, down there ... or wherever you are... time for bed?LIMPET235 wrote:Hi df,

Re: Alternative to FEBE please? SORTED
Nope.
Had exactly the same error with version 8.9.2 & Firefox v50.
Used the Task Manager to kill Firefox.
I'll stick with manual back ups when necessary.
