Soon Firefox won't support plugins ?
Is this true?
Or what do they mean? (probably some idiot kids are making jokes by advertising false information?) It looks officially enough.
It is from a google hangout page I had it saved. I can give the link to it if you really want.

That is what the article I linked to already says

Re: Soon Firefox won't support plugins ?
Thank you malliz
(From the article that you posted, it is uncertain if the plugins will totally disappear) but the intention is to get rid of them.
But why ?
Why no pluging? Why the change of mind about them?
(the argument in your page is: "Plugins are a source of performance problems, crashes, and security incidents for Web users.")
That's it?

As I said it is not only Mozilla but Google and Microsoft. Old Style plugins are terrible security risks and personally I would like to see the end of Flash as well it is a steaming pile of rose grower

Re: Soon Firefox won't support plugins ?
i understand better now - thank you.
Personally, i think this radical change will be bad. I feel the good stuff will be no more.. what a pity. (my soul is crying)
I doubt something better will come out. I doubt something equally good will be created. Also personally, I had no security issue in my life from plugins - only crashes or bad compatibility but manageable.
I am very curious with WHAT they will replace the plugin system?
Also, i am curious how smart mozilla will adapt to this new situation...

Re: Soon Firefox won't support plugins ?
For video/audio many websites have already been using HTML5 player like Youtube for quite sometime now http://www.youtube.com/html5/, twitch.tv, facebook and various news sites.
To be accurate, Firefox 52.0 and later Releases will only allow Flash Player Plugin to run whether on Windows, Mac OSX, or Linux.
There is the option of using the Firefox 52.0 ESR channel to use Plugins much like you can with Firefox 51.0 and earlier.
https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Problems ... ta-p/31069
Firefox 52.0 ESR will be served to WinXP and Vista users since Fx 53.0 and later drops support for WinXP and Vista.

Re: Soon Firefox won't support plugins ?
Thank you mister James
I am very scared (I think a lot of users are) for these changes.
You, mozilla build a very robust system of plugins and addons on your website and with the browser itself, and now because some idiots are whistling (no plugins!) -(probably to remove concurrence or just to feel good they made something, doesnt matter if is bad or good), you are listening to them and bow. Come on. It's ridiculous. My sincere opinion is to play dead for awhile, let this wind of farts pass, and then go on your usual way as until now. Probably they promise something tasty and yummy - i bet they did... Dont trust everything and balance every idea and word. My sincere advice for the people behind such a good software. Or, probably I am saying stupid s**t and in reality is good to change... heh...

Like it has been mentioned before, because many sites still use it, Flash will continue to be supported despite it's vulnerabilities.
Adobe Flash Player : List of security vulnerabilities
I haven't come across a need for any other plugin in years. Java is another security disaster.
Oracle JRE : List of security vulnerabilities
As for Google Hangouts.
