Second copy of a bookmark possible or not please? SORTED

Post by madmudmob »

Decided that rather than frequently rummaging through acres of folders and their saved bookmarks I would create a new folder for my most-used regulars. That went well and I dragged the bookmarks from where they were and into the one new folder and labelled it Favourites.
It would be good to have a copy of those in Favourites back where they were but I'm darned if I can find a way. Strolled through the 'duplicate bookmark' search on the add-ons page and there's plenty of options to remove duplicates but I didn't find one that would help me actually have them.

Any lovely techy-type tell me please if it can be done, how to do it, or am I thinking too far out of Firefox's box?

If your most used bookmarks are on the bookmarks toolbar you can have copies under a folder under Bookmarks Menu (not All Bookmarks) heading in Show All Bookmarks -
or have them in a folder more specific to the type or other descriptor.
New Folder appears to be allowed in the bookmarks toolbar but apparently does not cooperate with cut and paste inside the folder.

There's also this Mozilla link for resetting default bookmark folders:
Restore-the-default-Smart-Bookmarks-Folders

P.S: Who you callin' lovely :furious:

Hi MMM, (Roz)...
You said...
I dragged the bookmarks from where they were and into the one new folder and labelled it Favourites.
Did you really name it that?

You can do a copy and paste to have the same bookmark in multiple folders.
If you drag then hold down the Ctrl key.
That should work as well.
