Can I delete literary everything from these folders?

Post by prf22 »

C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp\mozilla-temp-files - altho it says this one is in use when ff is open

Is there any other location where unnecessary files are saved? I need all the space I can get

also I'm using FF 27.1 beacuse it's amazingly fast compared to the newer versions that depend on plugincontainer or double firefox.exe processes.. (I'm so curious what happened that made it less fast.., still works better and looks simpler than chrome or opera but what happened)

1st.... if I were you I would do a profile backup before deleting..
Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base

2nd.... you should be able to remove that stuff... but Firefox needs to be closed first... also, in that crash-reports folder... do you see lots of crashes in there? ... if so, you might want to copy/paste the 2 latest crashes that you had ... to here... links only... others who can read that stuff could help out...

Other areas to delete? ... nothing comes to mind right now.

As for the container...

...and you state some stuff about slowness... what is your line speed? ... how many extensions do you use? ... Just a FYI ... I use over 30 extensions on the 4meg system and it is fast for me... see what happens if you give the portable version of Firefox (latest version) a try... just for checking purposes.

Keep in mind that security (SSL connections) have changed quite a bit and you may not have support for accessing websites that do not support older cipher suites and TLS versions.
Firefox 27 seems to have TLS 1.2, but TLS 1.3 is coming on its way.

You can consider to use a Firefox ESR version.
