I tend to shop most of the time at jcrew.
Here is their site: www.jcrew.com
Notice the immediate pop-up of signing up for their mail list to get offers, news, etc
I find it extremely annoying that I have to close it out all the time not to mention the screen darkens also when it pops up.
Is there a way to prevent it from popping up in the first place? I have ublock origin and I have it set to no pop-ups but regardless this particular pop-up I can't stop it? Is it a script on their site that I can block somehow?
Any suggestions, help is greatly appreciated.
Is it possible to prevent pop-ups from legitimate sites?

I appreciate your help. It's not a welcome pop-up. It's a "join the list" pop-up.Brummelchen wrote:you mean the welcome popup?

I'm wondering why I'm not picking up the same two lines that you picked up with the picker? And when I do use the picker and eliminate the pop-up box along with the entire page which seems obstructed by a script...it hinders the page...it doesn't show the scroll bar so I can scroll down and browse the page.
But yet when I use the Zapper mode picker it works flawlessly in which it eliminates the script that causes the dysfunction. But sadly it doesn't stay saved.
Cnn.com is another site that got that little pop up that asks to remove adblock.

Re: Is it possible to prevent pop-ups from legitimate sites?
the zapper is temporary, the picker permanent - should be the same result.
if caused by script just block the script. for research use "inspect element" (firefox context menu) and look for <ev> at the end of line, a click reveals the script(s). then/or use the network logger from uBlock, reload thepage and search fopr the script to block it.
reminders vs adblocker:
activate the "uBlock Protector List" in ublock
should be
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jspen ... orList.txt
seems bit easier to be handled because chromium needs "ublock protector" extension to have it proper working.
