New Firefox GUI Rots! Please, Someone Start a Fork
We have in the same "update":
Ugly medieval square cornered tabs from 1990, trimmed in 5 year old Clearlooks.
The long scrolling option menu from hell.
A recent site homepage because you know this thing is keeping track of you. If you didn't nose into our business--we wouldn't need to manage private and normal browsing!
Stupid monochromatic flat icons--in spite of tests that prove that: flat is slower.
Folder that no longer are colored like folders.
And of course the usual Firefox broken extensions to discourage all but the heartiest add-on coders.
I hope someone forks this well and buries this seething pile of fast though it may be--crap!

One would think that neanderthals don't exist today but reading some of these firefox backlash on various sites, makes me think otherwise.

I wouldn't call this UI progress but to each his own.

I have to agree, the UI itself is nothing but awful.
When looking at 57 last night, I couldn't believe that I had to "figure out" how to accomplish what I wanted to do.

Fire 750, bring back 250.

At first I too thought the UI was awful.
Then I remembered you can tweak it with a theme(Persona) and css.
This is a great site for tweaking your Firefox.
From the creator of Classic Theme Restorer, Aris.
https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx
KUDOS to Aris for doing this!
For those who don't know how to use css or create userChrome.css there a sites that can help you.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.php?tit ... ntable=yes
And the members here too of course can help with any questions regarding creating/editing css.
IMHO I wouldn't give up on Firefox nor say someone please start a fork.
People have done those already!
After adding a theme(Persona) and creating a userChrome.css file for my Firefox 57, I'm happily using Firefox!
And it really looks very, very nice.

Re: New Firefox GUI Rots! Please, Someone Start a Fork
What an absolute crock that is.After adding a theme
FF has 1000's of "themes" & not one is of any value.
The only one that was partly decent (IMO) was Blue Transition.
But then once I moved tabs to the bottom (Aris code), that "theme" then lost that advantage.
Hah! You mean to tell me that a "lwtheme" is nothing more then a .jpg image!
I just made one! Color me impressed. I opened up Paint, scribbled my name into the existing (two) images, & there I am, a "theme" creator . (What an absolute joke.)

C'mon they're AWESOME !!!!!!!!

@ Of course other than solids, few of the image skins fit the toolbars, even with the Bookmark Bar enabled.
As revealed when clicking the Preview button..

Respectfully disagree with you on that.therube wrote:What an absolute crock that is.

IMHO the themes(Personas) give a very nice appearance to Firefox whilst browsing.
Also, the theme(Persona) creators took time and effort to create some very beautiful themes.

e.g. Dark Fox has 247,770 Daily Users so IMHO they do indeed add value.

Only these are not actual Themes but more like toolbar wallpaper. The Real Themes are or rather were these https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/complete-themes/

Good point.James wrote:Only these are not actual Themes but more like toolbar wallpaper. The Real Themes are or rather were these https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/complete-themes/
IMHO I also think those themes originally called Personas should still be named Personas.
The Real Themes as you have mentioned are IMHO still very important and should also be kept up to date for Firefox Quantum.
IMHO both Personas and Real Themes are beneficial in helping the UI of Firefox look more attractive for the user.
