Firefox home page

Post by coolmanoh »

This new version of Firefox(57.0) is driving me crazy. How do I set my home page and how do I prevent Firefox from changing it every time I log on?

Try navigating to your desired home page. Then use menu path Tools->Options->General->When Firefox starts->select "Show your home page"->and also click on the button "Use current pages".

If the homepage that you set is getting changed, what is it getting changed to?
Might help us figure out what is changing it.

At the top of the page is Search, Local Weather, News, Recipes Simplified, Food Network, Yummy and Epicurious. Below that in the center of the page is a large search rectangle. Below that are 8 icons: Amazon, Walmart, Target, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, YouTube, Recipes Simplified and Food Network. The home page I have been using for years is at isp.netscape.com.

So that is your "home page" & not a "new tab"?

What do you get when you open a new tab? Is that different from your home page?

You've checked what Dan said?

I didn't see Dan's reply previously. I did what he said and my home page is back. Thanks, Dan.
New tab gives me a blank page, which is what I want.
One more question: With the new version of Firefox (ver. 57.0) I can't find the browsing history tab.

Do you have the menu bar displayed. If not, try Alt+S to display the History menu.
