Simple countdown clock

Post by pschroeter »

I switched to Quantum a month ago and I really miss the simple Countdown Clock extension that I used for years and years. I'm surprised that I can't find add on that puts the days until a particular date in the toolbar now that the status bar is dead. Right now I would have it counting down the days until spring.

you can use an online timer, create a bookmark or a pinned tab.

I ABSOLUTELY tried to find a replacement but Firefox extension writers don't seem to think we need one as evidenced by the results of the search you did which I had already gone through. I had been hacking the Countdown Clock XPI and successfully raising the max version number for years and had been using it prior to Quantum (earlier this month), which finally killed it and several of my other favorite extensions (Scrapbook) for good. I just can't believe no one has thought to create something like it.

lol? no xpi extension would ever be usable since firefox 57, did you not read those articles about since you are a lasting member here?

the trick for replacements is to gamble around with search terms. "timer" "counter" "countdown" "clock" to name some of them.

also scrapbook has a replacement. go figure.

I did all the search tricks you mentioned. The fact that you haven't given me any names suggests you haven't found any like me either. Also, the replacement for Scrapbook sucks, about all it does is borrow the icon from the original Scrapbook. In fact, this has been my experience with Quantum, half my extensions that I've relied on for years were killed for good, and some of the replacements I've been able to find don't do as much as the originals.

What I'm trying to get across is of course I knew Quantum would kill most of my extensions, I stalled upgrading as long as I could. But after a month of trying to adjust to it, I'm trying to find replacements for some of the extensions I seem to miss the most. I still trying to kill the muscle memory that Add Bookmark Here created.

Hi, Why not try a free program, seeing as you cannot find a good replacement extension?
Heaps out there.

i am not in the position to do the whole work for you. and if you don't like the new scrapbook and don't write it down - not my fault as i can not read your mind what you have done that far, please consider it next time before you rant again.

stalling means -> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ until june'18 - without any option.
