Font Question - Emojionemozilla.ttf (Linux)???

Post by Grumpus »

Notice this showed up with the past two updates.
So far it doesn't display, tried several ways including a font creator and editor.
Is this a real font or some internal thing for Firefox only?

Those applications don't support color fonts. The font should be for Firefox's use only, precisely for that reason. For example, on Windows, it can be found under <installation folder>\fonts\EmojiOneMozilla.ttf so other applications don't see it.

You're welcome :)

If you care about the technical discussion, it was introduced in bug 1231701. Don't mind the title and platform; as you can see from the patch name and comment 141, it does apply to Linux as well.

@Grumpus

Are you missing the EmojiOneMozilla.ttf file in Thunderbird? Are the emoji images oversized?

@morat - It's visible for Firefox and SeaMonkey - doesn't show in direct look at Thunderbird directories or an in depth search.
However - Last few emails there was a happy face which showed after the usual colon right parenthesis.
