Addon to stop auto playback of the videos?

Sorry, can not find any right category, addons sections seems to be targetted ond evelopment and or announcing new addons.

My question: please is there any working addon to stop automatic playback of most videos on websites.

Example auto playback video https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/HSBC/ (scroll on that page down a bit)

Type about:config with a : in the Location (address) bar. There two Preferences related to the HTML5 player that may help.

The media.autoplay.enabled Preference will keep the HTML5 media from auto-starting in any tabs.

Or instead you can try toggling the media.block-play-until-visible Preference to true.

Also for videos/ads that makes use of the Flash Player plugin (old name Shockwave Flash) either set it to Click to Activate or Never Activate in Plugins panel of Add-ons Manager so any Flash videos or Ads you encounter do not autoplay.

not (only) because of this - it has several other impacts on firefox, and most people forget what they have set in prefs.
