Easy answer is yes (or no).
But not sure if there is a definitive answer to that question, https://www.google.com/search?rls=org.m ... er+firefox ?

No the Windows uses Registry Keys for setting the Default Browser and Firefox Portable doesn't touch the Registry at all. As far I know there is no Firefox Portable currently available for either MacOSX or Linux operating systems.

firefox portable is bound to the portable starter!!!
if you set firefox within firefox as portable you wont be able to use the portable profile without changes - and that is away from portable.

registry - when set that firefox as portable you have to exchange "firefox.exe" with the starter-exe (i dont know the exactly name, i dont use this portableapp crap)
