I'm in the same boat with Win7 SP1 installed and never update it unless absolutely necessary. However, a couple of updates are, now pretty well essential, Foxy. Read this thread for details: Update Win 7, or Not? For my clients I recommend using Firefox or SeaMonkey to use on Windows 10 OS.
Have doubts about any browser created by Microsoft.
