about:addons (Manage Your Extensions page) awful to use
Recently switched from ESR v60 to Release 67.0.1.
Immediately noticed the 'about:addons' page has been "enhanced" (NOT). Now half the page consists of comments explaining "how extensions work in private browsing" and explaining "some extensions are no longer supported by Firefox" etc. That leaves space for only one or two listed extensions in the scrollable area at the bottom of the page. Previously there were no superfluous comments reducing the scrollable extension list to almost nothing. This is progress? I think not!

Actually you have much more control over your extensions if you bother to learn it

the message window will disappear next builds.
but you profile seems pre-quantum you still got legacy extension installed (but disabled = not usable in quantum)
its time to refresh the profile or start a proper new profile for quantum.

Thanks for that! Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm running with the old ESR v60 profile - I'll create a new one for Release 67.0.2.Brummelchen wrote:the message window will disappear next builds.

Re: about:addons (Manage Your Extensions page) awful to use
i think this is just " Phase 2 " of the change. but yeah its totally Ugly, you cant Right click on the Extension installed an check for update no more. an the " Recommended Extensions bit " that is Ugly in itself, why cant the devs just Put that on the Extensions Page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ . firefox Desktop getrting Better? NO, rather much like there New Firefox Android Browser, thats just as Bad

Toggle to 'false', extensions.htmlaboutaddons.recommendations.enabled.
Helps, some.

Firefox has a setting to disable recommendations, no need for prefs.

Thank you. I will investigate later.
yep, found it out - the settings above is straight for the new layout recommendations on/off
this one is for the old layout, guess how long it last:

prefer to maintain thing as they were, include this on your user.js file (or change it in about:config):
https://www.ghacks.net/2019/06/19/firef ... s-manager/ . more people complaining bout it here,user_pref(“extensions.htmlaboutaddons.recommendations.enabled”,false);
user_pref(“extensions.htmlaboutaddons.discover.enabled”,false);
user_pref(“extensions.htmlaboutaddons.enabled”,false);
user_pref(“extensions.htmlaboutaddons.inline-options.enabled”,false);
