Post by candylovergirl »

Hello,

Newbie here

Can I know all the paths that FF use to install it in Windows 10 b.1903?

Thanks

You can pretty much install wherever you want.

Default install, oh, suppose it depends on OS, & bitness, but either /Program Files/ or /Program Files (x86)/.

Profiles, likewise can pretty much be wherever you want.

Again, default locations are (where I would never want it ;-)), http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Thank you very much,

I am looking for the following files but it seems some path changes and some .sqlite names changes also
I have check https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/re ... ld-profile
but everything is very different now

Where are they now? and which .sqlite names changed their names or they do not exist anymore in the current FF version?

Can you please help?

Kind Regards
Camelia

So you want to open your profile and delete those files?
Did you try typing
about:profiles
into the address bar and hit enter? The one you want is Root Directory
Don't know how long ago Frank wrote that advice? Some file names have changed

If you delete places.sqlite, you will lose your history. Make a backup of all profiles before experimenting is usually best.

Put about:profiles in the addressbar and press Enter. All profile paths are then shown. The 'Root' profile is the one you want.

That was a very old post - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p12105947 to a user with special requirements.

Ignore it (apart from my backing up advice there.)

Even when backed up, we ask that users rename unwanted files, not delete them. However, the user in that link insisted they wanted to delete them.

I'm late here and as you can see I use the ESR version of Firefox...but that doesn't really matter in this case... Even though a backup was done (which can fail at times) it is best to 'experiment' with a playing around with it profile... and leave your main one alone...just my thoughts.
