I never want to install another Search Engine

I installed duckduckgo HTML version and deleted all the others. I never want to install another search engine. However on almost every single page I visit, Firefox offers to "Add Search Engine" (or whatever) in the drop down search box. I also do not want search suggestions EVER. How do I disable the entire drop-down that springs into view every time I click in the search box??

Have you looked at the options under Tools > Options > Search?
